Small Home Sense Haul 25.05.015

Well hello loves.

I was recently watching Zoella and I found out that TKMax  has a home wear store called Home Sense. Since it was bank holiday Monday, I dragged Mark and Holly shopping with me to Edinburgh.

I only got 3 things. As we don't actually get payed till next week. But I will be back as there are some lanterns I love the look of!

But today I got this lovely horse India inspired horse he was £14.99
As you can see he is siting in my front window. I normally have flowers but this will be nice for the times I don't have any. There is an elephant and Buddha head I also want.

I also got 2 candles. The first being this one.
Sugar citrus. This is a 3 wick candle has a sweet citrus aroma and was only £5.99

The next one was this
This is a single wick candle in mango and coconut. I wasn't sure about this one and I put it back and got it like 3 times before I decided. It's hard to explain. It's sweet and you can definitely smell the coconut. This was only £6.99.

Everything in the shop looks lovely and it's quite cheap as well which you can't complain about. However, what they have on the shelves is it. It might not be back in stock. So if you see something get it!!

Have any of you been here before?

Let me know!

Copper DIY Project - Oil Burner

Well hello lovelies,

As you all know I am in the process of copperfying accents in my house for my new decor.

Today I am doing a simple but effective oil burner.

All you will need is
Hot Glue Gun
Glue Stick just in case
Copper Wire
Your project (in my case an oil burner)

You need to be pretty quick, so I didn't manage to get photos of all my steps. But here goes.

Cut the length of wire you need. Do a dot of glue on the back and quickly wrap your wire around the object.
I then done another glue dot on top of the wire once I was finished wrapping.

An voila
All you need to do is tuck that little extra wire in. I am thinking about getting some copper glass or acrylic paint and possibly doing some dots. If I do, I will do an up date.

Again this is just another simple idea to add you chosen colour with out having to go re buy all your decor.

This can be done on anything. I am planning on also doing this to my cream plant pot.

Let me know if you try it.

OOTD 08.07.15

Well hello,

Today Holly looks a riot lol. But this was half way through the day and she had been doing normal toddler stuff. I just wanted to show that i done make her stay clan and tidy all the time haha

Today Holly is wearing
Top and jeans from Asda George.

Top was £4 and jeans were £6. These were in a sale. So they might be more now.

Her hair is getting long (she needs a haircut badly) so it's up in its normal pony for now.

Let me know what you think :)

Asda Green Thai Curry Review

Well hello lovelies!!

Today I bought a Green Thai Curry kit.

Inside you have green Thai paste, coconut milk and herbs. All you need to add is oil, meat and veg.

I didn't add meat to mine as I wanted a vegetarian option.

Heat some oil in a pan (I used a wok) and a table spoon of coconut milk. Cook for a couple of minutes until it releases an aroma.

This is when you would add in your meat. However I added in my squash as it's quite hard and needs a bit to soften. I cooked this for 5 mins the added in the rest of the coconut milk. If you have added meat. Cook this until your meat is ready. For me I simply cooked until my squash squares were soft.
Now add in the rest of your veg and the pack of herbs. Mix and cook till everything is ready!!
Veg wise in mine I have squash, snap peas, baby seeetcorn and purple sprouting broccoli.

The rice I used is Tilda basmati rice
I also had enough for holly.

Voila!!

Over all I think it's a good pack and would give it 🌟🌟🌟 3 and a half out of 5 as I think it could be doing with more sauce. But it's a good starter recipe until you can do it from scratch.

Let me know if you try it.

Goal Setting To Help Keep You Up There

Well hello lovelies!!

I'm having a bad week! I have had two days off work so far but I will be forcing myself to go back tomorrow.

Some days the only thing that gets me up and dressed is going to work. Once I am there and I am working through the list, I do start to feel a bit better. But the trying to get up bit is the hardest.

So on days like these I need a goal list as such to work through. Here goes

1. Clean the work tops in the kitchen (pesky cats like to walk about on them with muddy feets)
2. Hoover all of down stairs
3. Get Holly ready for Mark to take to the child minder
4. Attack Holly's room while she is at the child minder (that way I don't have someone taking stuff out the junk bag)
5. Create a loft pile.
6. Clean, feed and check the animals.

I find keeping busy in these days help me a lot. Keeps my mind active. I should have seen this coming. My organisation has swirled the last couple of weeks. So here are some goals since I need to get back on top of things

1. Keep using the planner
2. Start meal planning from Thursday
3. Keep to my cleaning schedule
3. Keep to my nightly schedule (sorting Holly's bag, sorting Holly's clothes)
4. Select a new series to watch with mark
5. Book a table for dinner on Saturday so we can spend some much needed time together.

With Mark working a Tuesday to Saturday back shit, it's hard to be able to spend time together. Then this week he had to work a Sunday, which I think is when it all got to much. So he has this Saturday off and my mum and dad are watching Holly.

What do you do when this happens??
Let me know my suggestions in the comments.

A Pregnant Guinea Pig!!

Well hello lovelies!!

I have some news for you all. Sheila is pregnant!!!

I noticed it on Thursday night when I picked her up and could feel them kicking.
It takes roughly 50-60 days for a guinea pig pregnancy. I have only had her for 25 days at that point and Marvin is neutered.

So she has been pregnant when I bought her. I took her to the vets who done and ultra sound on her and confirmed there was 3 babies and they were fully formed!! This confirmed that she mush have been pregnant when we got her. She is that far along, they reckon she will have them in the next week or so.

Soooo we have a waiting game now and hope that even though she is only 16 weeks old that's she knows what to do.

I have been doing a lot of research. An I have also contacted the cavy club up here in Scotland. They have gave me a lot of support as well.

I will keep you updated.

A New Family Member

Well hello lovelies

No I am not announcing a pregnancy, however my overs may implode if I don't get a new baby soon. But that's another blog post altogether!

Here is Sheila
She is a 11 week old female guinea pig who will be Marvin's wifey!! If all goes well.

If you have read my blog before you will know what poor Marvin went through. I will link that here!!

But now he is finally healed, fingers crossed, touch wood, rub the head of a leprechaun nothing has went wrong again. So it was finally time to get Marvin a wife.

I will do a post on introducing them and then another one on how they are doing after they are living together.

Keeping It Together When Everything Goes Wrong

Well hello loves,

I though I would do this post as I need an outlet and that's what this blog is partly about. Also I don't know, it might help someone else. This is cheesy and I don't want to be preachy, but we will see how this comes out.

Over the last week it has been so stressful with trying to buy our house and trying to sort out my guinea pig.

We thought everything was fine and all of a sudden on Tuesday 26.05.14 everything went wrong.

The guinea pigs wound which I thought was healing great opened back up and showed signs of infection, there was a clanging noise coming off my car and we were told that the solicitor still needed paper work from the bank and we wouldn't be able to sign on Friday for the house.

I was extremely upset and down feeling. I thought about going to the doctors and trying to get signed off work so I could try and sort everything out.

I was sitting on the kitchen floor crying on the phone to my mum and Holly came into the kitchen. Holly has only ever seen me crying once before, an when other kids cry round her she doesn't bother with them.

But she brought me two of her fav teddies that now and then she brought me her blanket that is I think attached to her hand at times and she sat and cuddled me.

Now to start with this made me worse as  your 2 year old shouldn't have to do that!! Their mum should be a pillar of strength and they should be making everything better, not sitting on the kitchen floor in a mess.

This made me get up clean myself up and pull myself together. No child should see their mum like that! Once I had sorted my self out I was still pretty down but I started to think about each individual problem.

No one is waiting to move into our house as we are already buying it and stay in it. So it's not really a big deal if we don't sign for it on Friday, it's still going to be ours. I can't do anything about the back not sending paperwork on time. I have chased them all week. All my stuff is signed and its lost in the post somewhere.

The paper work they needed I could have the next day to give to them on Thursday.

Sorted not a big deal.

The car my dad was going to look at. An you know what if it was expensive I could put it on the credit card and pay it off. We hadn't crashed and the car was still on one piece. It was still drivable.

The guinea pig was going back to the vets the next day and I decided there and then I would do everything and anything to try and save this little pigs life.

That lead me to thinking. I am healthy, holly is healthy, mark is healthy and the rest of my family is healthy. We have a house over our heads that would soon enough be ours and I could start re-decorating it as to how I wanted. We are lucky enough to not struggle for money. Yes things are tight, we are a young family starting out but we aren't in poverty.  We have the help and support form our family round us.

We are in a lot better position than some people.

This picked me up. Everything that was wrong could be fixed. I just had to get a finger out and do it.

I suppose what I'm trying to say here is and I know it's hard and cheesy but when you are in that horrible place where it seems like everything is wrong. Think of the positives you have. Think of the people that depend on you. Think of people your life effects and who your behaviour effects.

I want Holly to grow into a strong young lady who can cope and deal with everything life throws at her. Not to sit on the floor and cry because there's some bad things going on in her life just now. What kind of example was I setting her. I need to teach her to be strong not close in when anything happens.

We are now on Thursday 28.05.15 and nearly everything is sorted. The car is booked into the garage, I have all my paper work to hand in and the bank is faxing theirs today. The pigs wound is starting to look slightly better. It all wasn't as bad as it seemed.

You just need to hold on. There is always a light at the end no matter how bad situations are.

Do you have any advise?

P.S we are now in August. we have bought our house, the guinea pig is healed and now has a wifey called sheila. The car is also sorted, very expensive but sorted.  Everything always works out for the best!

Divergent Book vs Divergent Film

Well hello lovelies,

Today I thought I'd do a review on the Divergent book vs the Divergent film.

I have only recently read the Divergent book and I absolutely loved it!! I then went on to watch and buy Divergent from iTunes as I loved the film as well.

I am not going into a full story / plot about this book or film as once I have read the series I will do a series review on them. But I will compare a few things I found interesting.

I love the characters in the book and I don't think they could have chosen better actors to play them.

Theo James as four is a great choice, for some reason I pictured him very similarly when I was reading the book. The thing I do find interesting though is that I feel at times, and I don't know if this his is acting or the people who wrote the scripts fault. But sometimes I don't feel the intensity coming from him for Tris like I do in the book. It kind of goes from him not showing really that he liked her, to them kissing. But this could be because as you know they need to cut scenes from the books to make a film. An I think they could have put a few more scenes in showing that intensity.

Shailene Woodley is awesome as Tris. I do feel at times though that her acting could be better. There are a couple of moments through out the film that I don't believe her. But I really think she is a great Tris compared to the book and I think it was a good pick.

The third character I want to talk about is Miles Teller!! How awesome a bad guy is he!! He is exactly how I imagine him in the book!! There nothing else to say about him. He's just great!!

I think in the movie one of the best scenes for me is when four is under the simulation and he has the gun to Tris's head, and she is telling him she loves him and it's ok. I think that scene in the film and the book is the best part by far!

I think the scene they missed in the film that I loved in the book, was when Tris steps between Marcus and Four, and tells him the only reason she hasn't put a bullet in his head is because she think four should do it. But she could change her mind. I think that's was an important scene showing her affection for Four and I think that would have been great in the film.

As I said I loved the film and book. I am currently insurgent and I can't wait to see that film as the book is also awesome!!

I love how Veronica Ross just keeps you wanting to read more. I love to read but I get to the point that at the end of a chapter I can put the book down and continue it at the next day. With this series I have caught myself at 1am saying right I need to stop! I have work in the morning! But I hate putting it down. Ever chapter as it finishes, I just need to know what happened next!!

Let me know what you all think of the book and film! I'd love to know!!

Outfit of the day 02.08.15

Well hello lovelies,

This is Holly's outfit today. Its just a lazy Sunday in the house, so we have some comfy clothes on!

Bother her zippy and joggers are from Primark. The zippy was marked at £4 but it rang up in the till at £2 so I wasn't complaining really. The joggers were £3. Shoes were a present so I'm not sure where the are from. Yellow t-shirt is from Asda for £2.50.

I need to get her hair cut as its getting to long now. But i have it in a pony tail with our little homemade clasp :)

I hope you all have a great weekend :)
