Paprika or Chilli Scrambled Eggs

Well hello lovelies,

I hate just plain eggs. I like my eggs to have a kick. So if I'm making them for us (unless it's holly) then I like to add some other ingredients :D

I love to make scrambled eggs on a bagel, or scrambled eggs with a big breakfast. So I add in either chilli flakes or paprika flakes.

Here I have my two eggs seasoned with pepper, salt and butter.
Give them a little whisk and add what ever you like. Here I've added chilli flakes
I mostly do my scrambles in the microwave. Just because it's quick and easy. 2 mins and it's done.

This was marks breakfast. He wanted sausage on a piece with eggs :)

I hope you enjoyed

Getting Your Kitten Spayed

Well hello lovelies,

With all this stuff in the news recently around dead cats and just in general about cats going missing. I wanted to do a post on Pickles being spayed and why I choose to do it.

The reason I choose to get her spayed at 8 months is basically I don't want her having kittens. There are enough homeless kittens and animals in this world without me creating more.

Also if she went into heat, it could cause problems for my two male cats fighting with all the others that are looking for her.

She is 8months and they generally go into heat starting at 6 months but I have never noticed it happening to her yet. So I'm quite glad of that.

I also think she is just so small!! If she was to have kittens she would either die or not be able to look after the kittens and I have my hands full as it is lol.

So I chose to have her chipped and snipped. At least that way she can now go outside and be safe.

At my vets she went in at 9am and we signed a sheet to say we understood the risks and were happy for her to be put under for the op. We then got a phone call at 11.30am to tell us she was hunky dory and was starting to come round. We then picked her up at 2.30pm. I opted for extra pain killers for her as she would be sore and I also got a cone of shame lol in total it was £74.

To be honest, I gave her the pain killer once and I haven't used the cone of shame at all. She cleaned her little wound a bit when she got in but hasn't bothered with it since.

Here she is on Saturday
This here is her little tiny wound.

Wee scone. But she is fine. I have been trying to stop her but it's hard to stop a cat from jumping. But there has been no sickness and her little wound is lovely pink and clean.

I hope if any of you have kittens that you opt to get them spayed. It's just a lot better for the kitten and as I said, there's enough homeless animals in the world.

If you have a cat it kitten you would like to get spayed or neutered and you can afford to do it yourself, I know the cat protection do it for you for free if you have taken in a stray. I'm sure also if you plead your case that you want it done but can't really afford it, they will help you out.

The Ice Bucket Challange

Well hello lovelies,

I know that in America this challange is for ALS. However over here in the uk, MacMillan cancer research has adopted this to get more donations and boy
has it took hold.

All over Facebook at the moment is this ice bucket Challange. They must be making thousands out of it!!

So I was nominated by my lovely mother. Basically for those who don't know you sit with your feet in cold water, nominate people and get someone to pour freezing cold water over them. This represents what it feels like to have chemotherapy.

I tell you If that's what people need to go through every week. I feel big time for them. This was by far the worst thing I have done in a while!!

I can't properly upload the video on here. So here are some screen shots!! I have also donated my £3 to MacMillan cancer.

I now nominate all of you!! Where every you are in the world!!

Let me know who takes up this Challange!

Follow Us Around Saturday 23.08.14

Well hello lovelies,

Today was a weird day. I think it's because I'm off Monday as well so it's thrown every thing off.

To start with Holly and I were up at 6am. I actually had to wake her up as I had to have everyone ready for 8.45am, as pickles was going in to get spayed.

Here is the mess Holly gets in when she eats her breakfast. Nutella toast.

Then it was time to get poor pickles to the vets.

After we dropped her off we went to franky and bennies for breakfast and I can't say I was that impressed. I had poached eggs on toast and they were snotty eggs yuck. But hey ho.

We then nipped into sport direction for mark to look at football boots and Holly was having fun with her ball. She was running round a stand chasing me lol

Then we went to Holly's fav shop......Toys r us!!! She was sitting up there in that slide and was waving bye to us!!

We got pickles home and she was fine. Probably a bit sore but she was ok, so I made her a little bed out of one of Holly's covers.
She's still a bit sleepy but she will be fine.

Since pickles has a sore side we have had to leave the gates open as she normally squeezes through the bars.

So holly has been having a ball running wild lol. Here she is with her ball she picked at the sports shop.
Here she is escaping up the stairs.

Then I done the normal stuff like house work. Went up stairs to get some stuff and found this when I got back.
I was tidying it all up and the ball pit didn't seem to be filling. Then I noticed, Holly was throwing them out the other side!!

Then it was bed time. Here is a sleepy Holly :)

Then it was PIZZA TIME!! With HOT SAUCE!!

Well I hope you have all had a good Saturday.

My Little Flower Girl

Well hello lovelies,

So my uncle recently got married and Holly was their flower girl.

I was really worried as Holly can be very tempramental. She can be great one min and then horrible the next. Just like any 18month old I suppose!!

However Holly was amazing. She walked down the aisle with the bridesmaid Lindsay and sat at the front with them during the vows.

She can be very strange with people she rarely sees or hasn't met before. But holly was great! She went up to dance with them at their first dance when they shouted on her. She was giving everyone kisses. She was amazing. I couldn't have asked for her to have done any better.

Here are some photos of her.

Has anyone ever really surprised you and you have been really proud of what they have done?

Update 18.08.14

Well hello lovelies,

Just a quick update on why I haven't posted for a few days!!

1. I have been struck down with the cold and I have just been feeling really off.

2. It was my uncles wedding on Saturday. So we stayed through in Edinburgh on Saturday night, when I got home I had lots of house work to do (I think the cats had a house party after we left). So in between housework, I slept.

I feel a bit better today. So hopefully I can get back into some sort of routine.

Here is what I have coming this week.

- Whats in Holly's bumblebee bag
- Holly the flower girl and how I got her to walk.
- Our week in photos
- House plant update
- Garden update

I hope you are all looking forward to these and I will speak to yous soon :)

What's In Holly's Back Pack

Well hello lovelies!

Today I thought I would let you all in on what Holly carries in her back pack.

Holly has a bumble bee harness pack and I keep a lot of stuff in there so that if we are just nipping out and I'm not taking the buggy. Holly can carry it for me!! My child can work for her stay lol.

Here are the contents.
Hand sanitiser
Some wipes
Bum cream (called butt paste)

I will do a review of the actual harness part later in the month. But as far as the back pack actually goes, it's awesome. There is a lot of space in there to carry emergency stuff without it being heavy for her to carry.

Plus you get a lovely little hood. So how could I complain.

Let me know what you think of these sort of bags for toddles in the comments.

Well hello lovelies!!

As you all know I love to grow my own stuff. Either flowers or produce but I just loved the feeling when you have really nice flowers, veg or fruit at the end of the month and it was all you who grew it!!

So instead of buying compost next year, as it can be very expensive if you are getting the good stuff. I invested in a composter!!

Basically it's a big tub which let's in a little light and lots of air.

You can add fruit, veg, grass or hedge clippings. Tree clippings or animal waste as long as the animal is a herbivore.

No meat, dairy products or animal waste which could have ate meats or dairy.

So any time u cut the grass it all goes in there. Any time I clean the rabbits out, it all goes in there and I think it's working pretty well.

Once a month I will stick a fork or rake in there and give it a rumble about. But next year when I'm ready to plant, I should have lovely rabbit manure compost to plant my stuff in.

My dad has one as well. But he doesn't put animal waste in it as he only really has cats and lizards. So we will see if the rabbit manure makes any difference.

Sweet Potato Salad Recipe

Well hello lovelies!

Recently my mum has turned vegetarian. Well I say recently, it been a few months now. But every time I go for dinner, I get some lovely new veg recipe.

So today I thought I would share this Sweet Potato Salad Recipe. This is lovely and refreshing for the summer months.

This is very quick and easy to make. So here we go.

-1 or 2 eggs just depends how much you like eggs :)
-1 large sweet potato
-3 or 4 cherry tomatoes
-handful of green beans
-handful of green lentils

You will want to boil your eggs. I like mine hard boiled. But this would be nice with soft boiled eggs that have been soft boiled, so you can mix the yolks in.

Peel and dice up your sweet potatoes I done mine into 1cm cubes. But it's totally up to yourself. These then need drizzled with oil and cooked in the oven at 180c fan until soft. Took mine about 20mins.

Meanwhile boil up the green beans and lentils until tender. Aprox 10mins I took to do this.

I then quartered my cherry tomatoes.

Once all my ingredients were ready, I mixed then together in a large salad bowl a divided up what I had. It served 2.

Then sliced up my egg and placed on top. 20mins it took to make this, which I thought was quite reasonable.

Let me know in the comments if you like it!!

My Bad Habbits

Well hello lovelies!!

The post I wanted to do today was about my bad habits. I won't go into all of them haha but here are some.

1. Mark always complains I take up the full bed!! Now it's not my fault. I need room for the cats in the inside as well!!

2. Not cleaning my make up sponges or brushes as much as I should. Ok I have no excuse for this one.

3. I doodle a lot when on the phone. Which then I can't remember what the convo was about. It's also very rude and I should stop this.

4. I tend to jump in half way through a convo and say something that I think is related but actually isn't. This is also very rude!

5. This is my worst one if all. I bite my nails. I do it as a procrastination (oooooh big words :) ) when I don't want to do something. I have tried nail bite and all those horrible tasting things. But nothing works. Thing is I would love to have nice nails as well.

So that's all of them for today :)
Let me know what your bad Habbits are.

Holly's Swim Haul

Well hello lovelies!

Since I missed yesterday's post. Here is a second one today :)

Holly has yet to go swimming. But mark and I are planning to take her at the weekend. So here is what she got.
This she picked out herself! Minnie mouse!! There was actually bikinis for babies!! I just though you know, that's a bit inappropriate for a toddler. So this was a good choice. A nice little wet suit number. It's a 3 piece. Top, bottoms and a swim hat!!
So we also had to get the matching poncho towel with a hood :)
Of course we cant be peeing in the pool. So little swimmers are a must. However I wasn't too happy with the price. These were from Toys R Us at £5.99. I can get Auldies own make for £2.99!! Total rip off!

The swim suit and towel are from Sports Direct at £7.99 each.

If anyone has advice on taking a baby swimming for the first time. Let me know

Holly's Visit To The Kelpies

Well hello lovelies!!

Yesterday we all went a trip to Falkirk to see the Kelpies!!
A kelpie is a Scottish folk lore tail of creatures at sea that look like horses, but have seaweed as mains and seal like skin. But you wouldn't ever be able to tell anyone this, as they lure you into the sea to drown you. So yeah!

However it's cool, these ones are just metal structures! They are situated in a huge area where there is a big pond to race remote control speed boats, and a huge child play area.

We didn't actually get to the pond or the park as it started to rain. An I mean it was bouncing off the ground it was raining that hard!

But here are some photos of these lovely structures.
You can buy tickets to go inside and see the structure but we had the kids. I think that could have been a bit boring for them.

I've heard they are lovely at night as well when they light up.
